As weddings have had to shift this year, weddings in 2021 will reflect some of the pandemic-born adjustments. Large and strictly formal affairs are taking a turn to smaller guest lists with more relaxed vibes for guests. Other details, like bridal and groom fashion, are following suit. Here are two fashion trends we expect to see more of in 2021:

1. Sleeves for brides

Though this trend will always be attributed to royal weddings and its effect on wedding trends, the relaxed and informal vibe of weddings are allowing brides to be more playful with their fashion choices. We’ll see more sleeves in 2021–cap sleeves, billowing sleeves, cuff sleeves. If you’re getting married in a church that follows a dress code, much like royal weddings, then this 2021 trend is something that will be, well, up your sleeve!

2. Colored suits for grooms

The men are going to use the relaxed wedding vibes to explore sartorially. Move over, tuxedos. Colored suits are coming. Grooms will favor blues as well as jewel tones like emerald and burgundy. If you’re having an outdoor wedding–beach or garden–or a brunch wedding, consider lighter hues like pastel suits.
